Last week was international book week and we celebrated it with enthusiasm. The ‘Shared Read’ took place on Tuesday, with Secondary, Primary and Early Years children enjoying their favourite books together. This took place in the library, a very sensible location compared to some of the entries that were submitted for our ‘Extreme Reading’ competition where children had to be caught reading in the most unusual place possible. The interesting locations seemed to inspire many of our children to become bookworms, as our Readathon has been one of the most popular competitions of this school year. This also meant we got some fantastic costumes on Friday when children came into school dressed as any character or phrase that has inspired them. Our Book week finished with a visit from the author Harry Baker visits who performed some of his own poems and then helped judge some of our competitions. What an exciting week!

สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาเป็นสัปดาห์หนังสือนานาชาติซึ่งทางเราได้ร่วมฉลองอย่างสนุกสนาน โดยมีกิจกรรมต่างๆตลอดสัปดาห์ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นกิจกรรม “แบ่งกันอ่าน” ในวันอังคาร ซึ่งนักเรียนจากต่างระดับชั้น คือมัธยมศึกษา ประถมศึกษาและอนุบาล ได้มาอ่านหนังสือเล่มโปรดด้วยกันในห้องสมุด ซึ่งเป็นมุมอ่านหนังสือที่สงบเงียบ เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับการแข่งขัน “การอ่านผาดโผน” ซึ่งนักเรียนจะต้องอ่านในที่ซึ่งแปลกประหลาดสำหรับการอ่านหนังสือเท่าที่จะเป็นไปได้ สถานที่ต่างๆได้ช่วยสร้างแรงบันดาลใจในการอ่านให้กับนักเรียนให้เป็นหนอนหนังสือ ในขณะที่ “การอ่านมาราธอน” กลายเป็นการแข่งขันที่เป็นที่นิยมที่สุดในในปีนี้ วันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมานักเรียนต่างแต่งชุดตามตัวละคร หรือวลีจากหนังสือที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจแก่นักเรียน เราปิดท้ายสัปดาห์หนังสือด้วยนักเขียน แฮร์รี่ เบเคอร์ ที่ได้มาแสดงกลอนสดและได้ช่วยเป็นกรรมการตัดสินการแข่งขันบางประเภท ช่างเป็นสัปดาห์ที่เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องน่าตื่นเต้นเสียจริง!
