Some students at Bromsgrove do not have English as their first language.  However, many of the teachers have been trained to address the needs of second language learners through such courses as ‘ESL in the Mainstream’ and are able to help students to learn effectively by using a wide variety of specific teaching strategies.  Nevertheless, more formal EAL support is offered to those children who need additional individualised help in order to achieve their potential. 

This additional help is offered by suitably qualified staff and within the mainstream classrooms, although there may be times when small groups are withdrawn from the class for specifically targeted sessions.
