International Book Week arrived at Bromsgrove last week and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the start of the new term. A whole school assembly kicked off the celebrations as we heard from teachers about what ignited their passion for reading and also looked forward to the exciting events for the rest of the week. One highlight for me was the visit from Harry Baker, a slam poet. He ran workshops for KS3 students on Wednesday and performed some of his poetry, on occasions, getting the students to also help out by saying certain lines. I particularly enjoyed his poem Dinosaur Love as it included an impression of a tyrannous rex which was very funny! The week was rounded off by a dressing up day on Friday and an assembly to award prizes for Extreme Reading and the Readathon: I was very impressed with some of the creative costumes on display!  

งานสัปดาห์หนังสือนานาชาติจัดขึ้นที่บรอมส์โกรฟเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาและถือเป็นการฉลองการเปิดภาคเรียนได้อย่างยอมเยี่ยม กิจกรรมดังกล่าวเริ่มต้นขึ้นด้วยการประชุมนักเรียน ซึ่งครูหลายท่านได้ขึ้นกล่าวเพื่อแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ให้นักเรียนฟังว่าอะไรคือสิ่งที่เป็นตัวจุดประกายความรักในการอ่านของตน พร้อมทั้งรอคอยที่จะร่วมทำกิจกรรมต่างๆที่จะมีขึ้นตลอดทั้งสัปดาห์ จุดเด่นของงานอยู่ที่แขกรับเชิญ แฮร์รี่ เบเคอร์ นักกวีที่มาจัดเวิร์คช็อปให้นักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาในวันพุธ พร้อมทั้งแสดงบทกวีของเขาให้นักเรียนฟัง และเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนได้ร่วมแต่งในบางวรรค ดิฉันชื่นชอบบทกวีชื่อ ไดโนซอร์ เลิฟ ที่กล่าวถึงความประทับใจใน ไทแรนโนซอรัส เร็กซ์ อย่างน่าขบขัน เราปิดท้ายกิจกรรมด้วยการแต่งกายเป็นตัวละครในหนังสือ พร้อมกับแจกรางวัลผู้ชนะการอ่านผาดโผนและการอ่านมาราธอนในการประชุมนักเรียน ดิฉันประทับใจความสร้างสรรค์ในการแต่งกายของนักเรียนเป็นอย่างยิ่ง
