As part of our topic on the UK, Year 1 and Year 2 got the chance to meet a piper and snare drummer from the Bangkok British Club Pipe band today. We were told all about the history of the instruments and the uniform and realised that our own school skirts are started, just like the kilts that the pipers wear. We were impressed with the volume and technicality of the playing and actually got a chance to play the instruments ourselves. Some of the children from our country dance ECA demonstrated a little highland fling and the Gay Gordon’s. This was an experience that won’t be easily forgotten and helped to bring our learning to life!
