Thursday’s visit of the prestigious universities of Bath, Exeter and Warwick proved to be an excellent opportunity for Year 11 and 12 students to start thinking about the things they can do to make their applications to top universities successful. The strongest message was that universities want to see interest and enthusiasm in the subject to go with good grades and that there are many excellent ways to show this, such as attending university summer courses, reading widely or even starting up a club in your own school. Students left with a much better idea of how to spend their time in order to succeed in the ever increasing competition of top level higher education.
