Early Years Nursery Rhyme Week

November 25, 2019

We ended the celebration of World Nursery Rhyme Week today at Bromsgrove Early Years with a fantastic dress up fun day. Students, teachers and staff dressed up as characters from famous nursery rhymes such as Incy Wincy Spider, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Five Little Ducks, Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and many more.

Nursery rhymes are fun! They help children with speech and language development and provide a fun introduction to musical awareness. Many rhymes have actions which help children understand the story that is being told as well as aiding gross motor development, numeracy skills and general confidence.

We encourage parents to incorporate Nursery rhymes into your child’s daily activities at home and during playdates, why not try to sing one rhyme a day with your child, coloring characters from nursery rhymes and read a bedtime story.
