On 20th July 2018

The kids learned about body parts by playing Kung fu in the sports hall. This was an entertaining and useful method of learning for the kids. they had so much fun during the class. Moreover, the students participated in Thai Culture activity, cooking PadThai and Kanom Krok. These two dishes represented Thai-ness to our international kids. The class was taught by our teachers from Thai department, Miss Ann and Miss June. This time, the children did not just enjoy the delicious Thai food, but they actually cooked it themselves. This class was fascinating and everyone loved it!

On 21st July 2018 (Thai Cultural Trip : Life Along The River for boarding camp students)

Today our Summer Camp ventured into a province to the west of Bangkok – Samut Songkhram. There we visited a seaside resort famous for the neighbouring mangrove forests and aquaculture farms.

The students travelled by long tail boat to a nearby mangrove, where they planted their own mangrove trees. This was a thorough challenge and tested our team working skills as we had to work together not to get stuck in knee deep mud. Throughout our boat trip and whilst planting trees, we saw crab-eating macaques along the water passages off the mangrove forest.

The students experienced fresh, clean air and nature on their second boat trip to a nearby oyster-farm. We learned about the local communities that call Samut Songkhram their home and their aqua-farming methods. The students got to see how oysters are grown at a local farm as well as get to touch oysters at various stages of harvest.

Upon returning and after a quick shower, we had lunch and departed for the famous Amphawa Floating Market. There the students got to shop around and see some of the local culture.

We hope that our students will be able to use today’s experience to appreciate nature and it’s interconnectivity with our modern life.

Please enjoy the photos of our daily activities. We hope you enjoy seeing these memories in real time. In addition, after our summer camp concludes, these photos and many more will be available on our school’s website for you viewing pleasure.
