What a fantastic start to the academic year 2017/18. It has been lovely meeting all our new families in Pre-Nursery and welcoming back our returning students. It is wonderful to see the children enjoying our new outdoor provision, which has increased our learning through play, as well as literacy and numeracy skills.
This academic year we have brought in “Word of the Week” which has taken off extremely well. Each Monday we introduce a new word for the children to learn and use in their speech and writing throughout the week. I am amazed at how many examples of these words I am seeing around the school and how well the children remember the words.
We have fully launched the Interactive Learning Diary to our parents, which means you now have access to the learning that happens in class through the use of videos and pictures. We also now have mini house events every Friday which help teach our children the importance of our learner attribute; being a “Team player”.
This week we had our “Stay and Play” event where our parents were invited in to take part in their child’s learning and experience what it is like to be a child at our school. This was also an opportunity for parents to gain ideas on how they can support their child in learning at home.
I am extremely excited by the year ahead of us and want to thank our parents for their continued support and commitment to our school.
