Air-raid sirens sounded last week to mark the beginning of Year 6s ‘Marvelous Middle’. War had been declared and Year 6 needed to be evacuated to the countryside. They gathered their gas masks and ration books and made their way to the evacuation point (the boarding houses). During their evacuation they learnt to cook British wartime food, played traditional games and even learnt to make do and mend. It was a great day and has led to some fantastic diary entries from our evacuees. Last week also saw the start of a new Primary boarding timetable. The children have had lots of fun deciding the activities that they want to do each night. Some of them are even learning to play African Drums!

สัญญาณเตือนภัยดังขึ้นเพื่อเปิดกิจกรรม “Marvelous Middle” ของนักเรียนชั้นปีที่ 6 ในสถานการณ์สมมุติว่าสงครามได้เริ่มต้นขึ้นแล้วและนักเรียนชั้นปีที่ 6 จะต้องลี้ภัยสงครามออกไปอาศัยอยู่ในชนบท นักเรียนต้องร่วมกันรวบรวมหน้ากากป้องกันก๊าซและสมุดคูปองแลกอาหาร พร้อมทั้งมุ่งหน้าอพยพไปที่จุดลี้ภัย (บริเวนหอพักนักเรียน) ในระหว่างการลี้ภัยดังกล่าว นักเรียนได้ฝึกการประกอบอาหารอังกฤษเมนูสมัยช่วงสงคราม เล่นเกมส์แบบดั้งเดิมและยังได้เรียนรู้ที่จะอยู่อย่างพอเพียงและซ่อมแซมสิ่งของ นักเรียนต่างก็สนุกสนานและนำไปสู่การเขียนไดอารี่ที่ยอดเยี่ยมซึ่งนักเรียนได้บันทึกไว้จากการลี้ภัยดังกล่าว สัปดาห์ที่แล้วมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงตารางเวลาของนักเรียนประจำระดับประถม ซึ่งนักเรียนต่างก็ได้รับความเพลิดเพลินในการตัดสินใจเลือกกิจกรรมที่อยากทำในแต่ละคืน นักเรียนบางส่วนได้เรียนรู้การเล่นกลองแอฟริกันอีกด้วย!
