On 22nd July 2018 (Thai Cultural Trip : Thai Farming Experience for boarding camp students)
Today our summer camp students travelled to Ratchaburi, a Thai province next to Myanmar. Here we visited Coro Field Farm, where the students were able to pick and decorate their own plants to take home as a memory of Thailand. We also expressed our creative side by painting our own reusable shopping bags. Hopefully this will encourage our students to think about using less plastic bags and consider their environment when they return home.
After a quick lunch and ice cream we departed for a local attraction – The Scenery Vintage Farm for Scenery Sheep and Dog Show. Here we got to see something completely unique – a show involving trained sheep, dogs and even a duck! Afterwards our students were able to appreciate the vast Thai countryside by feeding the local sheep herd, walking around the fields, eating sheep-milk ice cream and trying other fair activities.
After a brief stop at a local noodle restaurant, we returned to our boarding house, where our students were able to enjoy some well deserved rest.
We hope that our students gained a further appreciation of nature and the outdoors on their second weekend trip and bring this appreciation back home with them.
