Year 6 Parent Event – Sink Swim Survive

March 26, 2019
Year 6 ended last week with our  Parent Event on our Topic: Sink, Swim, Survive.
It was a lot of fun and it was great to see the parents get involved with the team building and survival skills activities, even getting very wet in the process! They also created some very effective water colours with the guidance of their children.
The benefits of these activities can be understated but the outcome can have immense results. The children get to demonstrate their independence and skills. By taking part in these activities you the parents demonstrate that you value your children’s learning, skills and experiences.
The skills in these activities consolidate learning, linking to academic knowledge and a Growth Mindset: creating new links and broadening problem solving skills. The application helps build self-confidence; risk taking; communication and language skills.
