Year 13 returned to the hill tribe village that the class of 2018/19 visited last year to continue building the village playground and community centre, using donations from their fundraising at school. The students’ work has really helped community and provided a resource for the villagers that is used everyday!
Year 12 went to Chiang Mai and had five days engaged in outdoor pursuits such as trekking, kayaking and a high ropes course. They also visited a local school to engage with the community and helped to paint their playground.
Six students went to Pattaya to complete their PADI Open Water course. They learnt a huge amount of diving theory and all successfully passed the written and practical exams to become certified divers.
Year 11 were based in Chiang Mai for Challenge Week and stayed in a small village where they worked with the villagers to make mud bricks and construct the walls of their community centre. They also did some jungle trekking and ecology work whilst they were there!
Year 10 visited Khao Yai for five days packed with activities such as rock climbing and kayaking. They also visited an elephant sanctuary, and took part in community service work at a homeless shelter.
Year 9 visited iCAMP in Kanchanburi and had a wonderful experience, full of exciting activities which allowed them to work on their team building skills. They also visited the Bridge over the River Kwai as an additional cultural element.
