On Saturday 22nd September, thirteen of our senior Literature and Theatre Studies students, accompanied by Mr Owens and Ms Meacham, jetted off to Singapore to see a fantastic production by the British company ‘Shakespeare’s Globe’. The Saturday night play was a special event where the audience got to choose which play to watch from a choice of three and the cast then leapt straight into performing it. We saw ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ which was both very funny and often disturbing; a truly excellent production.
Since we were in Singapore, we did some sightseeing, visiting the Garden in the Bay, and on Sunday went for a day of fun at Universal Studios. A brilliant weekend was had by all and it was great to see students really enjoying Shakespeare.
